| Automatic Test Lanes
As of September 2005, Automatic Test Lanes (ATL's) are authorised by VOSA for testing Class IV, Class VI (Lightweights) and Class VII vehicles. ATL's have been used by numerous European countries to conduct periodic safety checks for some years now but VOSA's ATL will differ slightly from the majority of those used accross Europe. One of the main differences with the VOSA ATL is that it's intended for 'One Man Operation'. This means that any action that was normally conducted by an assistant has become mechanically automated. The Garage Equipment Association, which is acting on behalf of VOSA, is currently inspecting equipment to see if it meets VOSA's ATL specifications. Hex Holdings Limited is keeping abreast of developments and stands ready to offer assistance and advice on all aspects of ATLs and to offer details of approved equipment as it becomes available. Please contact your local Hex Holdings Limited Garage Equipment Specialist, who we are sure will be able to help you, or email Ian Leatherland at our Head Office for further assistance. |
